Veeam Availability Console Now Available on Azure Marketplace

Veeam Availability Console Azure Marketplace Appliance: A Game Changer for Cloud and Service Providers

Last week, Veeam released the Availability Console Azure Marketplace appliance, a game-changing development for Cloud and Service Providers. This new appliance allows VCPs to easily deploy VAC into any Azure region, making it easier than ever to offer all the goodness that VAC offers our partners. In this blog post, we’ll take a closer look at what this means for VCPs and how to get started with the Azure Marketplace appliance.

What is Veeam Availability Console?

Before we dive into the details of the Azure Marketplace appliance, let’s quickly recap what Veeam Availability Console (VAC) is. VAC is a remote management, monitoring, reporting, billing, and self-service platform that enables Cloud and Service Providers to offer backup and replication services to their customers. With VAC, partners can manage multiple subscriptions and resources from a single pane of glass, making it easier to scale their business and deliver more value to their customers.

What is the Azure Marketplace Appliance?

The Azure Marketplace appliance is a pre-configured VAC instance that can be deployed into any Azure region. This means that VCPs no longer need to host Cloud Connect or VAC on their infrastructure, as they can now use the Azure Marketplace appliance to deploy VAC in Azure. This is a game-changer for VCPs who don’t have the ability to host Cloud Connect or VAC on their infrastructure, as it allows them to easily deploy VAC in Azure and start offering backup and replication services to their customers.

How to Deploy the Azure Marketplace Appliance

Deploying the Azure Marketplace appliance is easy and can be done in just a few steps:

Step 1: Search for “Veeam Availability Console” in the Azure Marketplace and click on the result.

Step 2: Click on “Create” to start the configuration steps.

Step 3: Choose the size of the Azure instance based on the number of agents and/or Backup & Replication instances you will be managing from this instance. You can find sizing guides here for larger environments.

Step 4: Configure networking and optionally configure availability and performance enhancements.

Step 5: Review your configuration settings and start the deployment. The deployment should take just over 8 minutes to succeed.

Once the deployment is complete, you can RDP into the VM and complete the setup, including configuring Cloud Connect and VAC itself. A few things have been done for us as part of the deployment, but we still need to source a VAC license from the Veeam Licensing Portal and apply it.

What’s Included in the Azure Marketplace Appliance?

The Azure Marketplace appliance includes the latest versions of Backup & Replication (9.5.0.1536) and Availability Console (2.0.1.1343), which include the latest hot-fixes for VAC. The intent is to have the templates as up-to-date as possible, but once deployed, you can upgrade as per usual.

Conclusion

The Azure Marketplace appliance is a game-changer for Cloud and Service Providers who don’t have the ability to host Cloud Connect or VAC on their infrastructure. With just a few clicks, VCPs can now deploy VAC in Azure and start offering backup and replication services to their customers. The Azure Marketplace appliance includes the latest versions of Backup & Replication and Availability Console, making it easy for partners to get started with VAC and scale their business.
