Workspace ONE UEM: Windows 10 Update Program Management
In the previous article, we discussed how to create an update profile for Windows 10 devices using Workspace ONE UEM. In this article, we will explore how to manage updates for Windows 10 devices using Workspace ONE UEM.
First, let’s take a look at the Windows 10 update profile we created earlier. As you can see, the profile has been applied to three Windows 10 devices, and the update status is shown as “Installing.”
To view the update history for each device, click on the device name in the profile page. This will take you to the device’s detail page, where you can view the update history.
As you can see, the updates are being applied in stages, with each stage showing the progress of the update installation. You can also view the update status for each device by clicking on the device name in the profile page.
Now, let’s take a closer look at the update profile settings. As you can see, we have set up the following settings:
* Windows Update source: Microsoft Update Service
* Branch: Semi-Annual Channel
* Functional updates: 60-day deferral
* Quality updates: 0-day deferral (no deferral)
* Installation behavior: Users can schedule the installation of updates at their convenience.
These settings ensure that Windows 10 devices receive updates from Microsoft Update Service, and that functional and quality updates are installed with the appropriate deferral period.
Next, let’s look at how Workspace ONE UEM manages updates for Windows 10 devices. To do this, we will click on the “Distribution” tab in the profile page.
As you can see, Workspace ONE UEM is managing updates for each device, and the update status is shown as “Installing.” You can also view the update history for each device by clicking on the device name in the distribution page.
Now, let’s take a closer look at the distribution settings. As you can see, we have set up the following settings:
* Allow other PCs to download updates: On
* Distribution optimization: Enabled
These settings ensure that updates are distributed efficiently and effectively across all devices.
Finally, let’s look at how Workspace ONE UEM manages update approval and installation. To do this, we will click on the “Approval” tab in the profile page.
As you can see, Workspace ONE UEM is managing update approval and installation for each device. You can view the approval status for each device by clicking on the device name in the approval page.
