Attention VCSPs

As a follow-up to the recent release of Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5, I would like to provide an update on the Zero Day Update and the process for upgrading from the RTM build to the GA build for VCSP partners with Cloud Connect deployments.

Firstly, it is important to note that the GA build (9.5.0.711) is different from the RTM build (9.5.0.580), and as such, VCSP partners with Cloud Connect deployments will not be able to upgrade directly to the GA build from the RTM build.

To address this, Veeam has released a Zero Day Update that enables upgrading existing installations of Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 RTM partner preview (build 9.5.0.580) to the generally available version of Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 GA (build 9.5.0.711). This update addresses a number of issues reported by partners on the preview build.

However, it is important to note that this update is not yet available for download, and Veeam has advised that it will be made available in the next few days through the VCSP channels. In the meantime, VCSP partners with Cloud Connect deployments can continue to run the RTM build in their production Cloud Connect environments.

It is also important to note that if you try to upgrade from the RTM build to the GA build, you will receive a splash screen with no upgrade option. This is because the update is not yet available for download, and Veeam has advised that it will be made available in the next few days through the VCSP channels.

Once the update becomes available, VCSP partners can upgrade their Cloud Connect environments from the RTM build to the GA build using the Zero Day Update. It is important to note that all new installations should be performed using Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5.0.711 ISO, which will be available for download starting November 16th, 2016.

In conclusion, VCSP partners with Cloud Connect deployments should not attempt to upgrade directly from the RTM build to the GA build. Instead, they should wait for the Zero Day Update to become available through the VCSP channels, which will enable them to upgrade their Cloud Connect environments from the RTM build to the GA build.

I will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns about upgrading your Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 environment, I encourage you to reach out to your local Veeam representative or contact the Veeam support team directly.
