The ADAC (German Automobile Club) is changing its partnership from EnBW to Aral for electric vehicle charging. The new partnership will offer a start-up offer and plans to expand to 20,000 charging points by 2030.
Aral already has around 2700 charging points in Germany and will offer a tariff of 51 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) for the first three months, with a subsequent increase to 57 cents/kWh. This new tariff is not just for Aral’s own charging points, but also for those of other providers. However, using a charging point from another provider will cost 75 cents/kWh.
The ADAC’s previous partnership with EnBW offered a tariff of 51 cents/kWh for AC charging and 61 cents/kWh for DC charging, making the new tariff a price increase for some customers. However, the ADAC notes that the new tariff is still competitive compared to other providers in the market.
The partnership between the ADAC and Aral aims to provide more charging options for electric vehicle owners and promote the adoption of e-mobility. The expansion of charging points to 20,000 by 2030 will help support Germany’s goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transportation.
Overall, the new partnership between the ADAC and Aral is a significant development in the electric vehicle charging market in Germany, offering more charging options and promoting e-mobility adoption.
